01Our story
Precast Africa is a South African industrialised-construction company. We cast complete reinforced-concrete room modules under factory control, finish them indoors, then deliver whole buildings — homes, student accommodation, mixed-use and commercial space — through one accountable team.
Conventional building cannot close South Africa's housing gap. It is too slow, too wasteful, and too exposed to weather, delay and a shrinking skills base. So we moved the building into the factory: a volumetric precast system that produces a monolithic room module every production day, to a standard that holds because it is made in controlled conditions rather than assembled in the open.
What we are working towards is simple to say and hard to do — dignified, durable spaces delivered in months instead of years, at a quality the people who live and work in them can feel. One system, one accountable team, from the mould to the handed-over building.
That is the short version. What follows is the long one, in four parts — the challenge we started from, the conviction that answered it, the system that came out of it, and the outcome it puts on the ground.

The inner core retracts at each corner to release the cast piece without dragging the concrete — the operation that makes a genuinely monolithic unit possible. We publish what we can show. Every figure we state is drawn from a source document, and anything still unproven is carried with its status rather than quietly asserted.
